ABOUT ME

I love Art

I've been making art since i was a young child . My mother is an artist and it has always been a huge connection for us. Going to gallery's and museums together. And she has been a great teacher, and inspiration. "The past is history ,the futures a mystery , and todays a gift thats why we call it the present". We all may at times endure things ,that may have us second guessing this sentiment .But it is to overcome these instances that i make art . The bulk of my work is done in a similar color scheme.Generally very bright colors , that could be called day glow . Layered in a manner that allows each color to accentuate those interacting or near it .

ARTIST STATEMENT

I use my art as a tool .To communicate feelings of great happiness and wonder , that i feel being alive. As well as make a comment on different aspects of life on Earth. My most recent & largest body of work; is done predominately in day-glow water colors , but also incorporates collage , acrylic , and ink . These works have become the gateway to an artistic style , that creates the illusion of three dimensionality through the layering of different colors with varying levels of chroma.
I have found this effect to be further extenuated by the use of chromatic glasses . I feel this series of paintings as well as a large chunk of my work , has taken inspiration from the Abstract Expressionist movement . While with my ceramic as well as my print work I have been trying to create and explore an aesthetic .I like to call "Contemporary relics " giving the illusion of items that could have been made from ten to a hundred years ago; while still retaining content and ideas that ensure there freshness!
